KTÜN Library – Read & Publish Agreements

Our university and TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM have established “Read & Publish” license agreements with several major publishers. These agreements, also known as transformative agreements, refer to a model that includes both database subscription fees and Article Processing Charges (APC).

Read & Publish Agreements provide authors with the opportunity to publish their articles as open access either free of charge or with substantial discounts on Article Processing Charges (APC) once their manuscripts are accepted for publication.

In order to benefit from the agreements, the following points should be taken into consideration:

    • The corresponding author must be affiliated with Konya Technical University.
    • It should be verified whether the publication type is covered under the agreement specific to the relevant database.
    • The process should be carried out using e-mail addresses with the @ktun.edu.tr domain, and “Konya Technical University” should be selected as the institution.

A. Read & Publish Agreements Implemented by Our University
  1. American Chemical Society (ACS): Provides access to 89 scientific journals in the fields of chemistry, health, physics, and engineering. There is a quota of 3 free open access publications available for all journals within the database. The quotas will be allocated according to the order in which the publications are accepted.

  1. De Gruyter: A database that provides full-text access to more than 400 peer-reviewed academic journals covering the fields of natural sciences, engineering, medicine, agriculture, pharmacy, theology, humanities, and social sciences. Unlimited and free Read & Publish services are provided for all journals in the database except Read Only journals.

  1. SAGE Journals: Provides access to more than 1,000 full-text e-journals and over 1 million articles published since 1999 in the fields of Engineering, Natural Sciences, Medicine, Social Sciences, Political Science, Communication, Criminology and Penology, Special Education, International Relations and Labor, Social Issues, Interdisciplinary Sociology, and Urban Studies. Authors have the right to publish their articles as open access in more than 1,000 hybrid journals included in the database for a fee of 200 GBP.

  1. The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME): ASME, which provides engineering standards for numerous technical fields and industries including pipeline manufacturing, elevators and escalators, materials engineering, gas turbines, and nuclear energy, currently offers users access to 36 journals, over 800 codes and standards, and over 200 books. Unlimited and free read-and-publish service is available for all journals in the database.

B. Read & Publish Agreements Implemented by TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM
  1. Springer Nature: As a result of the protocol signed between Springer Nature Database and TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM, free open access support will be provided for 3,094 scientific articles produced within all universities in 2026.

  1. The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC): As a result of the protocol signed between the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) Publishing and TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM, free open access support will be provided for 255 scientific articles produced within all universities in 2026.
